
Thomas Smith has over fifteen years of coaching, nutritional counseling & personal training experience. He is a former pro-soccer player and then turned pro-cyclist. Thomas raced as a Dellatante in Italy and went onto race for Pro Peloton out of Boulder, CO. Currently, he is racing his road bike with the Asheville Elite Masters Team.
Thomas has coached high school/middle school soccer, as well as club & elite cyclists and other endurance athletes. He is passionate about nutrition and specializes in "health-amatizing", fighting inflammation, and helping athletes recover.
He has a wide breadth of nutritional knowledge and enjoys showing others how to eat balanced and healthy meals and to use nutritional supplements for healthy living. Thomas launched a successful weight-loss group that helped individuals reach their weight loss goals and proper fitness techniques according to age/abilities. Thomas is certified in NESTA Functional Fitness and IFA Certified Sports Nutritional Counselor.
Every athlete is different and therefore needs a program geared specifically to meet their individual needs. All programs are carefully developed based on the information each athlete provides and on Thomas' knowledge from working with athletes from every area of Sports. Sessions are tailored to your personal ability, goals and available time.
Food Journal - Each athlete keeps a record of his or her daily food intake for 3 days. This will also include hours spent training and sleeping.
So many athletes question what fuel they should be ingesting, when and how much. This 1 hour consultation with help you solve this issue. Nutrition during and after your workouts is one of the main ingredients for a successful training/racing program.
