Cricket has always been an outdoor enthusiast primarily focused on long distance backpacking. The ability to simply get from point A to Point B under her own power has always fascinated her and has directly lead to her current addiction with long distance mountain bike events. After becoming a Mom in 2001, She hung up the hiking boots from her thru-hiking days and began thinking she had purged all her desire for long distances. But that was the furthest thing from reality. It took her a few years to find mountain biking but once she did she never looked back. A year after recreational riding with the a Local Women's Mountain Bike Club, she started racing in 2006 with a 12 hour solo mountain bike race.

Thad Dulin (Clemson, SC) is a Level 3 cycling coach and a fourth year professional on the road. He began his career in 2004 riding for the Colavita Bolla team where he placed 16th in the Tour de Georgia ITT against the likes of Armstrong and Cipollini. After his neo pro status had come and gone, he moved on to the Jittery Joe's Kalahari team based out of Athens, something much closer to home. Small budget problems then encouraged him to give a smaller team a chance the following year, Nerac Outdoorlights.com where he was given more of a leadership role. Look for him back on the Bean Team in 2007.

I began mountain biking in college as a way to keep in shape outside of the soccer season and as a way to satiate my sense of adventure and desire to stay active. As I was studying towards a B.S. in Physics, I quickly realized the direct relationship between cycling and much of what I was studying. College graduation brought with it an end to soccer and competition. I began racing mountain bikes in 2001 because I needed a way to be competitive. I switched to road racing in 2002 and moved up to Category 2 by the end of the 2003 season. After a few seasons of having my experience catch and surpass my ability, I began working with Total Cyclist and quickly improved, winning two state crit championships and upgrading to Category 1.
